Struggling with Mom Guilt? SMS Founder Addresses the Topic in This Video

If you’re struggling with mom guilt, you are NOT ALONE! As a single mom and business owner, mom guilt is a part of my own story too. So when Jameese McBeth invited me to be a part of her New Mompreneur Show on the topic of ‘How to Beat Mom Guilt,’ I was all in.

Too Good to Be True

I started my first business when I was 22. At that time, I didn’t have any children. I was living a young, ‘glamorous’ life for a 22-year old. I was only responsible for myself and my growing new business and I felt unstoppable.

But one day, everything changed and my world was turned upside down when I found out that I was pregnant. By this point, I was 28 years old and my business had grown so much that it consumed all of my time. I was working about 15-18 hours a day and I was EXHAUSTED.

Finding out I was about to be a single mom was, quite honestly terrifying.

Afraid of Failure

I was really afraid that my business would fail and that I wouldn’t be able to provide for my baby. I was also afraid that I wouldn’t be a good mom because of the energy and time that my business would take away from the baby. From the time I found out I was pregnant until my daughter was due, time was limited. In less than 8 months, I was going to be a young, single mom. I was going to go from being responsible for only myself, to being responsible for a baby.

When I look back on my feelings and everything that I thought about during my first months of pregnancy, I was actually experiencing a lot of mom guilt, I just didn’t know what it was yet.

How to Beat Mom Guilt

In THIS VIDEO below I share the story of my journey into business and then into motherhood in hopes that I can help any other mamas out there to know that they are not alone.
